Vern has found Woodworking to be a source of pleasure and relaxation for most of his life. As a self taught chair maker, he utilized the skills and techniques developed through his experience with various two and three dimensional mediums to craft a chair of exceptional quality and comfort.

He is an award winning Wildfowl carver with several Red and Blue Ribbons for his realistic decoys and Birds of Prey. His birds are in collections in Canada, Britian, Australia, and the United States.

He is also a co-founder of the Muskoka Lake Woodcarvers and has been a member of the Muskoka Arts and Crafts Incorporated since 1988.
       
Vern's log home and studio reside on the banks of the Muskoka River in Ontario's premier vacation playground.
